CLINICS: Big Four - Learn to Lift and Functional Movement
This is the second clinic I've attended at Rock Jungle Crossfit. I figured that since I'm working on heavier weights, and if I can get additional tips, techniques to avoid all and future injuries. I might as well come.
The class was taught by two of RJCF staff. Arty Bizi and demoed by Bryan Yu. The class was small with about seven us in attendance. Arty drew on the whiteboard, explain the different type of movements and then Bryan would demo it. Both came around, critique and a detail instructions on improving. Most of the movements we had covered in our crossfit class. While a few, some of us may had done before. But I definitely never received this type of detail instructions before (bench press). This is one movement that we don't do in crossfit.
Movements that we covered were:
- Low Bar Squats
- Sumo Dead Lifts, Conventional Dead Lifts
- Bench Press
- Push Press
We also covered the advantages of Olympic lifting shoes and their purpose. As well as programming to get the most strength, especially when combined with crossfit.
The other clinic that I had attended, was last Saturday. They had brought in two representative from River Valley Health.
