Decided to switch it up and attempt a 1 RM on my Overhead Squat (OHS). I haven't hit this kind of weight for over 2+ years.

Head Olympic Lifting Coach: AJ Facendi
Thoughts:
I think it's safe to say that I'm not doing much Crossfit classes and it's the Olympic lifting that has stolen my heart. This month of training is offset by an upcoming competition called, Winter Massacre. They (Saint City Crossfit) has been putting this competition on for many years. At least four years as I had pulled every workout that they had available on the Internet, for our training. Yah, I'm that guy... I actually started compiling the workouts back in November when I had registered. I'll save that competition for another blog entry.
Olympic lifting this month has been fairly consistent, just different days that I did the class (as indicated by the date under the programming). The week of the 15th to the 19th was Max weight lifting, which happens every 6 weeks.
Monday; January 15th, I attempted to hit a new 1 RM Snatch. That didn't happen the way I had it in m head. All that is documented in my Instagram post. You can see the result in the video.
Wednesday; January 17th, not feeling the need to do a 1 RM Clean and Jerk. Mainly as I'm trying to wrap my head around some technique issues and the more or less recent injury has cast some doubt in my head. I opted to attempt a 1 RM on Overhead Squat. Something that I haven't hit for weights for over 2+ years. I have a spreadsheet (of course, I do) of all my past lifts - 1 RM. This was one of those that I have touch in years. This too is in my Instagram post. See links above.
Monday; January 29th. I decided to come in and do the Olympic lifting class. My coach was surprised that I didn't take a day off after the competition the day before. I didn't feel it until mid way thru the class. HINDSIGHT: I should had taken the day off and did the class on Tuesday, at the Crossfit Armoury South location. A self smack to the back of head as this thought occurs...
