Crossfit Armoury - Week 2: Mobility, Olympic Lifting
Preventative Maintenance:
Mobility Class - Monday
Mobility class schedule for August |
Mobility Instructor: Aaron N.
Monday; we worked on Low Back, Hip, and Core. I really needed this class with the recent issue with my back. My back is probably at 95% resolved. But this class and it's movements was most welcomed.
Tools we used were the foam roller, rubber bands, ab mat and double tape lacrosse ball
I'll skip the details of the mobility class as there were a lot of terminology that I probably won't get nor write up correctly. I'll try to take better notes for next time. At least, leaving this class gave me a few memorable movements to use in the near future.
Advance Skill Development
Today's Coach: Aiden P.
Today's class focus on the following lifts:
1) Above the knee, 5 second pause squat snatch
2 Power snatch from ground then into
Low hang squat snatch below the knee with a 5 second pause
3) Snatch Balance
Gymnastic class - didn't attend
My Thoughts:
I will be shuffling my schedule around so I have enough rest time between Gymnastic class and Olympic lifting class. I'm aiming to have about 32+ hours of rest in between these classes as they are dedicated classes in their respectable field. From past experience, I had found that anything less than 24 hours is not enough time for me to fully recover, or it will limit my ability to either lift and/or use those muscles affected. Again, this may be different for you, but I know my own body the best.
This probably doesn't impact someone who are in their 20's or 30's. I'm not that anymore, thus the longer recovery time.
This week, I oped to skip the Gymnastic class on Sunday and take it on Thursday. My olympic lifting class will be move to Saturday am and I'll keep my mobility class to Mondays. My crossfit class will continue on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday early mornings.
