Day 329: CF Armoury - Testing Crossfit Open 16.2
My thoughts:
Coming into this with a different attitude. Something that will test myself, not just strength as Dave Castro had said, but doing this with an elevated heart rate. That and within 4 minutes for the first round.
Since I don't have Toes to Bar (it's getting there), nor do I have double under (my regular readers will know my struggle), I'll be doing scale. The weight on the Squat Clean is not the issue here. Getting to the Squat Clean will be the challenge.
Had a chance to look on the net last night to see if there were any hints/tips/suggestions that might help me out.
Here's what I found:
Coaches Corner 16.2: Tips for Scaled Open Workouts
The above link actually came from this note that I had found on Facebook;
Nicole Carrol on 16.2

Let's see how I do...

Just hanging around, swinging like a monkey |

Will I redo this again, or redo as an Rx? Doing it Rx would not be possible if I can't even do one Toes to Bar, so... most likely the answer will be NO!
This is Ray; he's very happy! He beat me by 1 REP again!! (176) Last week, he beat me by 1 REP as well in 16.1 <photo credit: Clem Ho> |
With that been said, will I do a redo? I'm not sure at this point of time. Considering that I gave it everything I got. However, if I went with a different strategy and not kick out of the gate so quickly. I might be able to squeeze out a few more reps. Or just leave it as is, and hope the future workouts will have more strength based.
This is where I might have an edge on Ray. He's a cardio machine... strength; he's pretty good.
In the end, my thought on this workout is quite simple. I gave it all I got and finish with the score I have.
