My BOD POD experience: body compositiion

The Bod Pod; Body Composition

What I would look like inside (of course, one would be near naked;
 I thought I would spare everyone seeing me that way.)

Let me Out!! Me being silly after the testing was done..

Well, my journey has started.  I've grown tired of just weighing myself daily and more recently on a weekly schedule on that digital scale.   Half the time, I don't know if the weight lost is due to the time of the day that I had measured or just water weight lost from doing the WOD the night before.

A few months before Christmas, I had spent some time reading up on Bod Pod and trying to see where I could get a proper test.  As luck would turn up for me; they had one in my city, St. Albert.  It's a private health club and the testing is open to the Public.   The only other BOD POD that was available was at our local university.  However, that one was not available to the public.   Of course, like most things....  life gets in the way and I soon forgot to check into it further.

Luckily my discovery didn't go un notice.  My wife surprised me with two sessions with the Bod Pod as a Christmas present.
Ideally, it would had been great to do this test last year before or shortly after I had started Crossfit. However, at that time; I didn't know if Crossfit was gonna be "the" workout for me.    And when Crossfit did became a regular thing for me; I was still learning (how to eat healthier, trying to do Paleo, not get injured).

Last week, I finally had a clearing in my schedule, booked the 30 minute appointment.

The entire process is listed on SVAC (St. Albert Athletic Club).

SVAC is the only private health club in Central & Northern Alberta to have a BOD POD onsite!

You are to avoid exercising and eating two hours prior to the test.   Come to the centre and wear something snug.    The test takes about 2 minutes, each lasting about 50 seconds.   They claim that this test is about 99.5% accurate.  The rest of time is reviewing the results with the consultant.

I've always been curious how much of my body is fat and how much of it is lean mass.  I figure if there was a tool out there that could give me that information; I would give it a try.  And then afterwards, I can plan accordingly how I would go about reducing the amount of fat in my system.  I really needed a form of metric.

I'll do another test in about 6 months from now, whereas they recommend 3 months.   After my 6 months test, I'll do one more at the 12 month mark.  I want to see the changes.  I'll still continue with my monthly weight-in and physical measurements of each of main body parts.

I'll follow up with another update in the near future and share my results and journey with you.

My Goal weight by the end of the year it to drop about 25 lbs from my current weight.  It's doable..
Time to apply all that I have learned and see what my results will be.   As one of my coaches had mention; "you have done Crossfit for 14 months now.   It's time to ramp it up!"  I've taken that to heart.

Let this be the catalyst to reset/restart my weight loss.   The journey continues...
