Crossfit Armoury - September 26, 2017: Speciality Class - Olympic lifting class
Tuesday; September 26, 2017 - Crossfit Armoury - South |
Coach: AJ Facendi
My Thought:
Second week of Olympic lifting on the south side. It's always nice to visit with the Crossfit Armoury family.
Olympic lifting - Snatches / Clean & Jerks Programming for today |
Snatches:
Continuing working on my snatches, fine tuning the progress I've made. Considering that I hit a new PR yesterday, 155 lb. I opted to build up to a heavy set for the 1 Pull + 1 Low Hang Snatch + 1 High Hang Snatch.
I started with 75 lb, 95, 115, and 135 lb following the suggested pattern. After I had hit 135 lb, I decided to stop and leave it at that. Again, feeling it a bit from the workout yesterday. I usually take a day of rest between Oly class; but tonight, it was calling me to come. Plus, it brings a smile to my face when I do Olympic lifting. I'll admit, it felt pretty good, these lifts. I may have to add this to the days I'm working on Accessory or just practice days.
Clean & Jerk:
The exercise today calls for C&J Waves. Using the percentages (I love these now, more and more) as show; we worked at our own pace. It was more of a challenge at the 80, 85, and 90% stage. As you get do that same rep scheme, three times!! As coach AJ said; it's tough; but it will build strength! Yup, this is what I need to get over my hump.
Misc:
It was mentioned in our internal private FB group that next week; we would be doing Max weight testing. Always excited to see my progress on this.
Other notes, I also wanted send out a ShoutOut to a group called InfoWOD; another great info site on Crossfit. They have been following, reading and liking my blogs. If you get a chance, check them out at the following URL:
