Day 29: Nicole and Heat..


Definitely feels like summer is here.    WOD was partially outside today.  As our coach Jodaye said, ".. it's time to get some Vitamin D!"


Monday; May 6, 2013 - the Wall @ Rock Jungle Fitness  - Benchmark day 'Nicole'



Warm-Up:

3 Rounds

-  100 Skips
-  10 PVC Passes
-  10 Over Head Squats
-  10 Snatch High Pulls
-  10 Push Ups
-  10 Sit Ups


SKILL:

SNATCH
   5 x 3

+ Less than 6 months

     5 x 3 Snatch High Pull
           3 Overhead Squats

Results @ 8 PM - Name, Rounds, Pull-Ups

WOD - Nicole

20 Minute AMRAP (As Many Reps as Possible)

-  400 Meter Run
   (Right out doors to the bus stop and back)
-  Maximum Rep Pull Ups





My Thoughts:

It's hot outside, 31 C when I came in... according to my truck temperature gage.

Modification to the run for me; 400 meter rowing per round.

Used the pull up machine instead of the band.  Kudos to all those who worked hard thru the workouts in this heat!

The SKILL; never done a snatch.   Had problems just doing the Snatch High Pulls.  Had to get Jodaye to help out with it.  I used the bar and as suggested, extend the width of my grip on the bar to the end.

Curse my over-analystical brain; over thinking the entire process.  So when I was doing it, it was broken down into mini-steps (just the way I pictured it in my head).  However, execution was not very smooth.   I'll have to put this on my list of things to work on.  I might have to use an aluminum pipe next time.
