My Thoughts:
Quite the surprise this evening as they rolled in our SKILL and WOD as one big event. Something new to try and different muscles you would use, or train than the standard crossfit.
Bouder Climbing. They had laid out and labeled several 'puzzles' along the wall for people to climb. The easier ones were on the top level and the harder ones were on the bottom level.

Results of Crossfit WOD @8PM |
I've only done this once before, and it was our second week of doing crossfit. Leanne and I came here on one of the early morning days. I had found it hard to do then, and it was still hard now. I admit, I haven't tried again since and I'm sure if I do this on a regular basis; I would get better. Practice always pay off...
One of the great thing about Rock Jungle, is it's a comprehensive Indoor Climbing, CrossFit, Yoga, and Fitness centre. We didn't have to go far to do this workout. For more information about the facility; check out About the facility
Warm-Up; an extra round, but a much easier warm-ups than the past.
SKILL & WOD; TBA was what was written on the wall. It was revealed after our warm up that we would be trying something new. Boulder climbing. And like Kevin had mention; you will be using different muscles that you don't normally train with in Crossfit. Kevin gave us some rock climbing shoes. The shoes fit smaller, than what you normally wear. After everyone had their shoes on, we were lead to the upper floor. Kevin demonstrated what we needed to do and later moved around helping where to grip, which way to lean, and provided suggestions.
It didn't take long before I started to feel muscles that I haven't used before, and that includes those during our crossfit training. I think the only thing I wish I had was some chalk. It would had helped with the gripping. I found that the boulder chewed thru my fingers like sandpaper. It was more of me slipping off the grip than anything. The only injury that was worst was when Leanne made her last attempt to climb to the top of one of the challenges; she grabbed the top grip and then fell off. And off came some skin on her finger. She's hard core.. bandage on.. and she continue with the challenges on the lower level.
There's a few of from our class I can see doing this pretty good. Some like Mike, Chet, Alex were hanging upside down gripping the boulder/handles. I'm impressed... for me.. I'll keep doing my crossfit until I can build some more upper body strength and core... and then tackle this climbing...
Until the next crossfit class.. ... tackling one WOD at a time!!!
