Crossfit Armoury - March 17, 2018: Open Gym + Mobility
Crossfit Armoury |
Thoughts:
Came in early (8:45 am) to work on some Olympic lifting because I felt energized; despite doing the Open 18.4 last night. I figure I would need a little bit more than an hour before doing the mobility class at 10 AM.
Plus I wanted to scope out the area where I can lift before anyone else comes into the open gym area. At 9:00 AM, there is the early crossfit class and I wanted to grab some equipment before they start. Namely a barbell and some plates. I guess I could had use the dedicated olympic lifting plates (in kg) that was on my side of the open gym. Oh well; one does not think of everything at that moment. I'm so use to grabbing the black bumper plates.
I worked on my snatches and later, moved to my clean & jerks. I followed a spur of the moment routine, working on progression with Snatches with certain percentages. However, I did not feel as strong as I would normally and had trouble hitting my normal 85% weight (135 lb). After two failed attempt, I opted to move to the Clean and Jerk.
There I went and work thru percentages based on my past week olympic lifting. I did hit 185 lb before calling it. It was time to put away the plates and do the mobility class.
Mobility class: Arri was teaching this session and it focus on easing the potential pain/strain from the open 18.4.
Sadly, I didn't get a picture of what he covered nor remember all the exact movements. I did find that it helped with post open movements.
