Thoughts:
Well, it's been a while since I did my last DeXA scan. The last time I did this was at the end of September, in 2016. Geez, where does the time go by?
Was motivated to get a new scan and my wife had schedule it for both of us. I won't be sharing her results, but I'll share mine.
I've taken just a few pages out of the 14 page report. Removed a few non-essential data that I didn't want to share.
This would be a good gauge to see how I progress and with the different training I've been doing. The other factor not show here is my nutrition. That will be another blog post in the future... when I can really tell you how I've been eating.
As you can see from the first page, there is distinct changes from when I initially did my first scan (baseline). I'm only comparing to the baseline. If I compare it to my last session; there is bigger changes.
Weight change was by 3.3 lb, Fat mass was 5.5 lb and Lean muscle mass 1.5 lb. This is comparing my baseline to my most recent scan.
Hopefully this is a sign of going the right direction. It's not as big of a change as I had in the past, especially how long it's been since my last scan.
I had some set back in 2015 to 2017. Those who read my past blog entries will know why.
Some interesting interpretation of the results is that my bone density has creeped up, and as the technician; also name Tony mentioned, you won't have to worry about breaking an hip! Its value is 1.407 g/cm2 Baseline is 1.0
I giving credit to that from all the olympic lifting, and lifting in general.
Motivated to restart and perhaps start a new chapter, I needed to get a new scan. Let's see how the next 6 months goes and hopefully more changes. Now, onto working on my nutrition.
For those in the Edmonton area, check out Glenwood Radiology and schedule yourself a body composition scan. I think it will provide some interesting information for you and perhaps help you in working toward your goals in your health and fitness.
And those who are not in the Edmonton area, check out your local city to see if there is DeXA scan machine.
Best of luck to everyone on your healthy journey.
