This was what was logged on my Garmin
This was the route we (Lewis and I took).  The girls
who were more efficient in their running and went much further!

Thoughts:

Started the day with a hour long gymnastic class.  Opted to do gymnastics today instead of #inVEST.   While the #inVEST workout looks very interesting, but talking to my training partner (Shannon H.); we opted for this instead.

Our coach was Stacey Head who had us worked on Bar Muscle Ups.   I was a bit unsure as I was just getting the hang of Beat Swings.  I'm far from the same or similar level as the rest of the class.   No matter, Stacey had us setup various degrees of boxes and bars to help train us with the varying level of skills each one of us had.

It was quite fun, the class dynamics today was very good!  All good laughs and as well as support for each other.   While many of the people in the class was successful in getting scaled version of the Bar Muscle Up, some of us <this guy> was still learning the basics.  I know, some people just get it and can just do it!  Others, a'la the rest of us takes more time.  It just the way we are built, I guess...  <I'll keep telling that lie to myself>

I did managed to capture a bunch of the people who had worked hard to achieved their goal.  The energy was quite high and positive!  I'm quite happy for all those who made their first, to capture it and help celebrate it!

Sunday Jog:
We met a few other people down at Fort Edmonton Park (starting point) to do another group run.  The invite went out via our internal Armoury's private Facebook group.   Invite was open to everyone who wanted to run, walk, push a stroller with their kids, walk their dog, ride your bike, rollerblade.  It's all about being active!   Plus it was a beautiful day to be out.  It was measuring 26 C for the temperature at noon.

As you can see from the above map, that's the path we took.  And the distance, which was about 4.73 km.  Lewis and I did a light jog, walk, repeat for a good portion of it.  While the ladies were much more efficient with their jog and went further.  They mentioned they went about 5.2 km.   Shannon was the lead for this group today and the goal was to go for about 25 minutes.  Turn back when you hit the 25 minute mark, and collect everyone on the way back along the path.

Our main rendezvous point would be the Fort Edmonton Footbridge, where the picture was taken.  Plus we met a few other Armoury folks who were down there on their own.

While I did try to convience the group to do the Wolf Willow stairs, I had no buy in.   So no stairs today!  Perhaps the next time.

So, what's the point of all these runs/jogs?  Well, some of us just don't have the time commitment to the Running Club that Armoury's has.  Plus, with the nicer weather; it's always nicer to go as a group for an activity.   Let's face it, who doesn't want to work on their cardio?   I know I do, and despite the fact that I suck at it..  I need to embrace the suck and work on it!   This is a product of people with similar goals and just wanted to get out as a group, our fitness family...
